Lainey has been a dream baby. We love her dearly and we hope the feeling is mutual. ;) She most definitely feels like the puzzle piece our family was missing. Dawson has surpassed any expectation I had in fulfilling his big brother role. He adores his sister. The bond they have already formed completely warms by heart. I am incredibly thankful that we get to experience and witness the sibling bond that has only just begun between our kids. (KidS. That STILL sounds weird.)
At 2 months I would say we are in the very, very beginning stages of a 'groove'.
Lainey is a rock star sleeper (somebody somewhere, knock on wood!). Currently she 'flips her switch' and her scream lets us know she is ready to punch out for the day. This happens between 6:15-6:45pm. That starts the change, swaddle, feed process followed but some singing and rocking/bouncing. Then she is out for the night. We do a 'dream feed' before we head to bed at 10:30pm and then she sleeps til 6-6:30am.) That girl has my heart! She likes her sleep like her Momma. :) Lainey has about a 2 hour nap she takes at some point in the day mixed in with other cat naps.
She so far appears to be an observer and would rather be in her swing (which she LOVES) or kicking on the floor looking on to what's happening around her. She is full of smiles and some coos. Her happiest time of day seems to be the morning.
Lainey eats about 4ish oz. every 3 hours or so.
She is 12.3lbs (72%), 24" (95%) and her head is in the 65% percentile.
Her nicknames thus far are: Lainey Bug, Lainey Girl, Sweet Cheeks and Princessa.
We just ooze love for this baby girl. We still pinch ourselves each day that God brought this shining light into our family.
