Great, Great Love

A few weeks ago we (along with GG and Grandma Lisa) went to visit Dawson's Great, Great Grandparents. 95 and 98 years old! Dawson loved exploring their home and being the center of attention. We had a really nice visit and enjoyed our time spent with them. What a special afternoon! Check out the pictures at the end of this post from the visit...

Each day that passes Dawson gets more and more interactive. He laughs when we make silly faces, moves in every which way except for crawling forward and talks all the time except no actual words. Well I guess he does say "Da-da" and "Ma-ma" and some other sound alikes but they are all amidst his jabbering. His latest babble is probably the cutest this far. I can't even phonetically type it because I don't even know where to start. He moves his tongue in and out of his mouth and throughs some "g" sounds in there...I don't know, but it's darn cute.

He started standing along furniture this weekend which is a little crazy. And as I mentioned before, moves everywhere except by crawling forward. He goes from sitting, to all fours, to rocking, to lunging forward, to pushing himself back up on all fours which moves him backwards and farther away from his destination. So then he's really mad and to pout he slams his face into the carpet and then rolls over. It's quite the scene! Sometimes it seems like crawling is 5 seconds away and other times he is so not interested. My prediction has always been that he would skip crawling and walk early, but only time will tell!

We were over at the Kalschuer's one night last week and Dawson and Averi were so much fun together. They are starting to really interact with one another and baby talk back and forth while swiping the other one's toy from one another. Nikki and I would place them on all fours facing each other and they each keep scooting farther away from one another. It really hit me how fast they are growing but also how neat to grow up together and experience the same things at the same time. It was a special moment...one of many to come I am sure.

At 8 1/2 moths of age, Dawson...
- Loves to eat cheese! It's most definitely his new favorite...with bread and yogurt close behind
- Plays with his interactive table ALL the time, and has no interest in his jumper
- It getting taller by the second and is definitely thinning out
- Splashes like a crazy person in the bathtub and wishes he could spend the whole day in the bath
- Is super ticklish
- Takes 4 - 8oz bottles and has three meals of solid food throughout the day
- Plays really well by himself
- Favorite new activity? Pulling all of the books off his bookshelf in his room
- Slept til 8:45am this morning! Not normal however...bummer, huh? ;)
- Never took an interest in a nuk until the last month and now is hardly found without one

It's so exciting to see Dawson grown and learn new things each day but also a little sad knowing that he is growing up so fast. I know everyone says it, but times continues to go faster and faster and we're just trying to keep up...
