We got Dawson's preschool pictures back a few weeks ago and it prompted me to do a little digging.
Who does Dawson look most like at 4? What do you think? :)

The Christmas Program
Dawson had his preschool Christmas program this past Sunday morning. They had 4 songs they sang for the church. Dawson is definitely a music kid. He is almost always singing and dancing, listening to music or making his own. He is in a music class on Friday mornings and almost all of his gift requests revolve around musical things (instruments, microphones, etc.).
However, to say that we expected to have happen what did during the program would be a major understatement. Check out the rockstar himself below....
When we got home after church Daryn asked Dawson if he planned out those moves or if he just felt like dancing. He responded, "Well, I just felt it in my heart and then just nailed it."....
Love that little music man. A star in the making perhaps?

Dawson's First Day of Preschool
Dawson had his first day of school today at Sonshine Preschool. He was so excited and has been asking for weeks when he gets to go back to school. We were all ready for him to get back to school. :)
I loved that he came home from school singing 'Who's in the Lord's Army?', and talking about the Bible story where Jesus said 'Let the little children come to me"...melted.
I can't believe how much difference a year makes! The baby has melted away from his face and the boy is here to stay.
I interviewed Dawson this afternoon when he got home from school. Here is a current snapshot of what he's like at weeks shy of 4.
Age: 3.75
Teachers: Miss Jamie & Miss Jen
Favorite Color: Red
Favorite Food: Chicken Nuggets & Waffles
Friends: Veda, Averi, Jackson
Favorite Toy: Fire Trucks
Favorite Truck: Garbage Truck and Dump Truck
Favorite Song: Some Nights, Get Back Up Again
Hobbies: Anything with wheels, building towers, sing/play music, riding toys outside
What do you want to be when you grow up?: A concert singer
I ooze with pride over this little man. Here's to a great school year!

This boy...
...has stolen my heart. Completely. Every time I look at him, I just can't get enough. I keep thinking that feeling will settle in but it only grows with each second that passes. It almost hurts how much I love him. I tell him all the time yet it still feels like it's never enough.
I love every last thing about the boy. His sensitive little soul, the laugh that comes from his toes. His soft spoken nature and how he could never hurt a fly. His ever growing, quirky sense of humor and memory that captures everything. His manners that never end and those big, brown eyes with the dark, killer lashes.
I want to bottle him up and keep him like this forever.
I see so much of his dad's mannerisms in him. Goofy personality, dripping with sensitivity and such a deep concern and care for others well being. Daryn is so good with him, always taking the extra time to teach, not just tell. Dawson is so lucky to have a Dad that has time and takes time to not just be with him, but be with him. In the moment and ever present.
I'm reading a book right now that talks about living each day as if it were your last. Not to be dark, but to push you to squeeze life out of life. Does what you do each day matter and do those who matter to you know it?
Well, Daws, I hope you always know how much this Momma loves you. That I couldn't be more proud of you and the mighty man you're becoming. I have no doubt you will accomplish great things and touch people's lives. I see God's handy work in you already and the seeds He's already planted. Dream big, little man...I see bright stars in your future...
As my dad always says "They're the greatest and I'm the luckiest."

Thanksgiving
As always, there is so much to be thankful for. This year we were especially thankful to have Weston to celebrate with! I am so excited to watch these two grow up together and be buds. I can see them causing trouble already. They will have such a special bond...I just know it. So happy for that sweet boy Weston joking our family. The world is sweeter with him in it.
Frosty
The first snow of the season fell yesterday. We had such a blast playing outside with Dawson. He loved every bit of making the snow man, shoveling and running around. And of course the hot chocolate after was a close second favorite. :)
Santa Train
The Santa Train is becoming a tradition in our house. We go every Sunday after Thanksgiving. It's about an hour and a half train ride in North Freedom. It's been fun to see Dawson's level of excitement with Santa increase. :)
